About Our Practice

Thank you for choosing DermSpecialists. Our mission is to provide Elizabethtown and the surrounding region with superior, compassionate dermatological care. To accomplish this goal, our providers use the latest techniques and the most up-to-date treatment options available. Our staff is committed to excellence and giving each patient a positive experience.

OFFICE HOURS: DermSpecialists’ hours are Monday through Friday, 7 a.m. – 4 p.m. Brandenburg hours Tuesdays, 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.

AFTER HOURS: One of our physicians is always available to attend to emergencies that arise. Please call our office number and our answering service will notify the physician on call.

RETURNED PHONE CALLS: Our staff strive to return your phone calls on the same day, however there may be times when they are returned the next business day.

MEDICATION REFILLS: DermSpecialists requires a 48-hour notice for prescription refills. Please avoid waiting until you are out of your medication to request a refill. A better option is for you to contact your pharmacy so they can fax us a refill request – you then may contact them to see when your prescription will be ready.

APPOINTMENTS: We value your time as a patient, and respectfully ask you to do the same with our providers and other patients. We will always strive to honor your appointment at the time it is scheduled, however if an unforeseen delay occurs, we will offer you the option of waiting, seeing another provider in the office, or rescheduling your appointment. It is ultimately your responsibility to keep track of your appointments and arrive on time. If you arrive more than 15 minutes late for your appointment, we will attempt to offer you another same-day appointment if availability exists – if not we will reschedule you for another day. We respectfully require that you provide no less than a 24-hour notice for all cancellations.

PAYMENTS: If you do not have health insurance, or we do not participate with your insurance company, payment for your charges is due at the time of service. All co-pays will be collected at the time of service, as well as 20% of any additional charge for any procedure performed at the same time as your visit. If you do not have a co-pay, we will collect payment in full for your office visit, as well as 20% of any charge for any procedure. If you are unable to pay, we will be happy to reschedule your appointment for a future date that will be better for you.

REFERRALS/PRIOR AUTHORIZATIONS: It is your responsibility to know if your insurance requires any referrals and/or prior authorizations, and to obtain those prior to your appointment. If your insurance does require such referrals or authorizations, we recommend your calling our office 48 hours prior to your appointment to confirm that we have everything necessary – otherwise there is a chance that your appointment will need to be rescheduled. Our staff cannot call your insurance company and/or your primary care physician at the time of your visit to obtain information about your benefits, referral or participation. It is the ultimate responsibility of our patients to understand their insurance coverage.

INSURANCE: Please provide us with your current insurance cards upon sign-in. We will submit claims to your primary insurance twice, if necessary. Secondary insurance claims will be submitted only once. After 60 days the balance is due and becomes your responsibility.

Once again, welcome to DermSpecialists – we look forward to providing you with excellent dermatologic care.
